Happy Halloween...

Last night was the Halloween Crew Party.

Jeannie and Joe Latessa dressed up like Juno and Paulie Bleaker from the movie Juno.
I dressed up like Henry Jones, Jr. from the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Temple of Doom" and the "Last Crusade".
I did not dress up like Henry Jones, Jr. from the movie "The Crystal Skull". I do not acknowledge that movie exists. I pretend it was a figment of my imagination.

Scooters...

Well, we had ourselves quite a day.

Jeannie and I got up today and rented a Scooter to drive around the island.
It's something that we've wanted to do for quite some time, but it's a little expensive to do. We figured that since this is our last week in Bermuda, we might as well do it now.

The other reason we haven't done it is because it's pretty scary. The roads in Bermuda are very narrow and people drive like lunatics here. Also...they drive on the left side...so, you know...that's a little weird.

After a short lesson on how to drive the scooter, we were off and running.

Our first stop was, believe it or not, the Tea House.
Jeannie loves, loves, loves little tea houses.
She read about this one in a New York Times article about Bermuda and has wanted to go there for the last four months. Thanks to the scooter, her dream came true today.
She was very happy.
The Tea House was inside of a very cool, old hotel resort.
It was right by the ocean.
Jeannie loved the outdoor restroom.
After that, we drove over to the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. It was built in 1844 and was the first cast-iron lighthouse.
My dad loves lighthouses so I've seen quite a few of them in my time. This, however, was the first time I've ever been able to go in one and climb all the way to the top.
It was great. From the top we could see all of Bermuda.
I was very proud of Jeannie as she climbed out on the ledge and walked all the way around.
...riding on scooters...climbing around lighthouses....Who is this girl?
We then drove into Hamilton so Jeannie could finish buying the rest of her Halloween costume. After that, we drove to the other end of the island to visit St. George.

On the way to St. George, we got a little lost.
We stopped to read the map and found this fantastic church.
Across the street from the church was this beautiful graveyard.
We got back on the road and headed to St. George.
The original plan was to drive to St. George and take the Ferry home. Unfortunately we didn't realize that the Ferry stopped running back to the Dockyard at 5pm. We were going to have to drive all the way back in the dark.

We headed back and stopped along the way at the Swizzle Inn for dinner. After dinner we drove back to the ship. Trust me when I tell you that the narrow roads are much more scary at night.

It was a long, fun, wild and exciting day. We really had lots and lots of fun.

The only repercussions are that are butts hurt and our legs are still vibrating from being on the scooter all day.

Also, our faces are full of dirt.
We had a very fun day.

Mad Men...

Thanks to our great castmate Tim Paul...

(I have to include his picture or his feelings will be hurt)
...Jeannie and I have gotten wrapped up in the TV show Mad Men.
I've only been able to see the first season, but I have to say Mad Men might possibly be the best show on TV. It's fantastic.

I'm hoping I'll be able to download season 2 this week.

Actually, it might be one of the top 10 shows EVER on TV.

Giving up...

Jeannie and I are both giving up things for the next four months.

She's giving up potato chips.

That includes corn and tortilla chips, but does not include crackers.

I thought things like Goldfish Crackers...
...cheese it's...
...should be included, but she disagreed.

I, on the other hand, have give up chocolate.

That actually includes all candy bars and anything that falls into the candy category.

Unfortunately, Jeannie picked last week to go to the Hershey Store in New York City.
Aside from Pizza and Dorito's, Reeses are my absolute weakness.

Sigh....

No peanut butter cups until February.

Horseshoe Beach...

Friday afternoon, Jeannie and I took Nate, Matt and our new musical director Joe Latessa to Horseshoe Beach.Matt and Nate's Visit 056

Four Dudes on a Beach.

We had a great time!

We swam.

We snorkled.

We relaxed.

There's an amazing grotto next to the entrance of the beach.  Matt and Nate's Visit 057

Most of it is about 3 feet deep, but there's a huge drop off right at the mouth of the ocean.

The drop off is full, full, full of fish.Matt and Nate's Visit 066

We had a fantastic time.

Thursday Stardust Night...

Our new running order went fantastically well.

The Stardust Theater was packed to the rafters with people and we executed all of our new material well.

Matt and Nate really did a great job of getting us prepared for the show.

Afterward, we met in the Starbar and relaxed.
