New Videos...

Jeannie, Jo and I filmed a few videos a few weeks ago so that we could do a short video series.  It's really Jo and Jeannie's.  I just help direct and edit them.

Please watch, both are 2 minutes or less. Here are the first two:

Texas BBQ...

The last day of the Texas culinary tour took us to Rudy's BBQ.

It's our favorite Bar Be Que place. In Texas, the discussion of the best BBQ place could lead to fisticuffs.

We got a little bit of everything for Sarah to try.

Turkey, brisket, ribs, sausage, chopped, everything.

After lunch we went to the movies. I know I've said this before, but one of my favorite things about Texas is they have Diet Dr. Pepper at all the fountain drink stations.

The soda stations at the Palladium Theater were space age soda fountains.

After the movie we stopped off and picked up a pizza from Pizza Hut. If you know Jeannie, you know she loves promotional specials from fast food chains. She got 2 promo pizzas. One was almost bigger than the table.

Mi Tierra and Sarah...

Jeannie and her parents and I took Sarah to our favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, Mi Tierra.

It's always festive in there.

There's a mural in there with all the famous residents from the area.  Jeannie's not a fan of the newest addition.
It's Eva Longoria, if you can't tell.

One of the highlights of the meal is when the Mariachi's come to the table to sing.

I recorded a video of them with my new iPhone 4.  I used the new 8mm App!

After the meal it's absolutely essential that you visit the bakery.

The Alamo...

Our friend Sarah who is one of the Cruise Director's from the Pride of America is visiting us in San Antonio this week.

We took her down to The Riverwalk.

We ate at an awesome restaurant next to the river.

It was 65 degrees so we ate outside. The food was so good.
Afterward, we took Sarah over to The Alamo.

Sarah's getting into the Texas swing of things. She even put on Jeannie's cowboy hat.
I love The Alamo. It's so historical and majestic.

We walked around and enjoyed the beautiful garden. Sarah was so excited to see a cactus that she actually pricked herself.
I thought that only happened in cartoons.

Bear Down...

Big day for the Bears. Right now I'm very anxious, waiting for the game.

Bears have to win today. HAVE TO!

Jeannie made cookies for the game.

I'll be miserable if they lose to the Packers. Jeannie asked me how long would I be in a bad mood if they lost and I answered 1 week.

I'm wearing my Urlacher Jersey.

It was lucky for me this year. The Bears won every time I wore it. Last year, the Urlacher jersey wasn't so lucky. So, I'm not totally confident in it.

If the Bears fall behind early I'm shedding the jersey and going to my backup good luck t-shirt.

I was very fortunate this year. Miraculously, the ship broadcast 8 of the Bears games and I was able to watch 4 of the games on the internet. The rest of the games I downloaded on iTunes a few days after the game was played.

It's been a good season, but I'm not ready for it to end. We need 1 more game after today.

Bear Down Chicago Bears, Bear Down.

The Dentist...

Oh boy. It's time to get my wisdom teeth out. They've bothered me for awhile.

I went for the consultation yesterday. The dentist here in San Antonio is state of the art.

My x-ray was done on this machine.

It swiveled around my head!

When I got to my examination room the x-rays were there waiting for me.

I watched a video telling me all the dangers of getting my teeth extracted.

I met the doctor and got my appointment set.

Jeannie's folks have been taking us all over to eat at great places in San Antonio.

We ate at the Roaring Fork yesterday.

It was fantastic.

Here's something I forgot to post last week.

Jeannie bought me this soda because she thought the little man on it looked like Dwight from The Office.

San Antonio...

Jeannie and I are at her folks in San Antonio.

We arrived late yesterday.  We were both exhausted.  Neither of us had had more than 4 hours of sleep in the last 4 days.

I was so tired I went to sleep and forgot to call my parents.

As usual, it'll take a couple days to rewind.

I always forget how quite it is back here on land.  There's always some noise going on on the ship.  It's odd not hearing anything banging around.

One of the great perks of being back on land in the USA is strong internet!

I made this video of Jeannie and I and our trip to Tokyo several months ago.  The internet wasn't strong enough for me to post it so I had to wait until today to get it up.  Here it is:

Let me know what you think.

Miami. The last day...

It's our last day and we're headed home.

Well, we're headed to Jeannie's home. We're going to San Antonio for a few weeks.

This trip started in Seattle and saw us traveling up into Alaska.

It was beautiful and awesome.

I really enjoyed it and feel fortunate we got to see it.

From there we traveled along the west coast and saw several stops in Canada as well as Oregon and San Francisco.

We then traveled down into Mexico and saw some great sights.

We also hit Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Honduras.

Crossing through the Panama Canal was a great treat.

Cartagena turned out to be our favorite place.

We reached Miami and then did a cruise through the Bahamas with Jillian Michaels.

From there we toured through the Caribbean Islands and revisited several of the islands that Jeannie and I visited on our first ship, the Dawn.

From there we criss-crossed back and forth through the Panama Canal on the way back and forth from Miami to LA. Along the way we parasailed...

Saw crocodiles...

Swam with dolphins...

Jet Skied...

Saw a glacier...

Visited Alcatraz...

Visited my great friends Mike and Melissa and the their kids and showed Jeannie the Hollywood walk of fame...

Oh yeah, we also ate and ate and ate and ate.

It was a nice, relaxing contract. We saw a lifetime worth of sights in 4 short months.
